Chicago Weather: Finally, Snow Is Ending, Calmer Conditions Ahead

CHICAGO (CBS) --Finally our wintry system is exiting, and a very quiet, but cloudy pattern emerges.

Chicago saw some bursts of moderate snowfall during the day, with an inch or two of accumulation in some areas.

Starting on Sunday, the pattern looks very simple for the next week or so. Mostly cloudy skies are expected each day with highs in the upper 30s and lows in the upper 20s.

A few flurries or snow showers may be possible for the end of the week. That will be a much different picture than last year at the end of January, when Chicago endured 52 straight hours below zero.

All winter weather advisories expired on Saturday afternoon.
