Chicago Weather Alert: Severe storms passing through; tornado watch covers much of the area
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Scattered storms area sweeping across the Chicago area. A few of those may produce gusty winds. An isolated tornado or hail cannot be ruled out. The good news is temperatures are not terribly warm, keeping things somewhat stable, but that could.

A tornado warning has been issued for McHenry County until 6:30 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch from 1:48 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CDT in Illinois for Cook, LaSalle, DuPage, Kane, Kankakee, Grundy, Kendall, McHenry, Will, and DeKalb counties.
3 p.m.: A few storms may start to nudge into our western viewing area.
4 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Scattered storms across the entire area. Severe potential.
8 p.m. to 12 a.m.: Storms winding down and exiting to the east.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy and cooler.
Area-wide. There is no specific location more favorable at this time -- this includes the entire Chicago metro.
Sunday sees partly sunny skies early in the morning, colder temperatures, and a slight chance for some late-day sprinkles.
After 8 p.m. storms will begin exiting and likely be out of the area by midnight.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Showers taper off after midnight. Low of 52.
SUNDAY: Partly sunny, breezy, and cooler. High of 56. A stray shower is possible by afternoon.
