Chicago Weather: We Get Wet

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Clouds keep increasing hour by hour.

We are still watching two waves of -- one Wednesday and the other more impressive one on Thursday.

Throughout the morning on Wednesday, rain chances increase with passing showers all day - rather light. It will be a chilly day with highs in the 40s.

We will also have a raw wind right off the lake keeping it damp and cold. Water temp is 42 degrees.

The second wave of rain develops Thursday. This system will set up a dominate southwesterly mild wind flow carrying temperatures into the 60s and pulling low level moisture our way from the Gulf of Mexico.

There may be enough late afternoon/evening instability to generate some gusty storms.

Right now, Storm Prediction Center has us in a marginal risk for severe weather. Much better chance south. (area highlighted in yellow).

Locally, the best place to possible have thunderstorms would likely be south of I-80.

SPRING begins Thursday evening at 10:50pm.
