Chicago Water Department Employee Wounded In Shooting

A city employee was shot and wounded Thursday afternoon in the Little Village neighborhood. (CBS)

(CBS) – A Chicago Water Department employee on the job in the Little Village neighborhood was shot Thursday afternoon.

Police say the 40-year-old victim was in his own car near 31st and Komensky when two suspects walked up and fired shots in his direction.

He was grazed in the upper chest and hand and taken in stable condition to Mt. Sinai Hospital.

A city spokersperson confirmed the shooting victim was a Water Department employee but would not provide additional information.
