Chicago Tribune Reporter Charged With Kicking Out CTA Train Window

(STMW) -- Chicago Tribune reporter Jeff Coen was charged with a misdemeanor after police say a a CTA surveillance camera caught him kicking out a window of a CTA train earlier this month, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting.

Coen, 43, turned himself in to police Friday and was charged with misdemeanor criminal damage to property, according to Chicago Police spokesman Veejay Zala.

Coen was allegedly caught on surveillance video kicking out a window of a southbound Red Line Train in the 9800 block of South State Street at about 8:10 a.m. on May 9, Zala said.

Coen, of Oak Park, co-authored the book, "Golden: How Rod Blagojevich Talked Himself out of the Governor's Office and into Prison."

Coen did not respond to an emailed request for comment.
