Chicago Temperatures To Go On Roller Coaster Ride This Week

CHICAGO (CBS) -- It will be an up and down week for weather in the Chicago area, but it should be sunny and warm by the weekend.

While Monday started out with plenty of sun, temperatures were not expected to get out of the low 50s, well below normal for the start of May.

Tuesday should bring more normal conditions, with a high near 66, but that won't last, as temperatures will fall back to the low 50s on Wednesday and Thursday.

Tuesday night and early Wednesday also will bring a slight chance of showers and storms.

This weekend is when things really start to turn for the better for a while, with mostly sunny skies, and highs in the low to mid 70s at least through Sunday.

Looking beyond this week, for now it looks like temperatures will remain in the high 60s to low 70s to start next week, although there's a good chance of rain each day starting early Sunday.
