Chicago State University Basketball Teams Announce Travel Restrictions As Precaution Against Coronavirus

CHICAGO (CBS)-- Chicago State University announced travel restrictions, as a precaution against coronavirus.

The CSU men's basketball team will not travel to Seattle or Utah for upcoming games this week.

The women's team will not host those schools for games that were supposed to be played in Chicago.

Chicago State is still evaluating its attendance at the 2020 WAC Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas, March 11-14, and will make a decision regarding participation later this week. Additionally, Chicago State will evaluate all upcoming athletics travel, the university said.

All travel for study aboard has been cancelled until further notice.

"Chicago State Athletics views our decision as a reaffirmation of our commitment to the well-being, health and safety of our student athletes," said athletic director Elliott Charles.
