Chicago police SWAT team standoff ends in arrest in South Shore

Chicago police were in a standoff all day and well into the night Sunday in the South Shore neighborhood.

At 5:02 a.m., police were called to the 2700 block of East 76th Street for a SWAT incident.

The situation remained ongoing all through the day.

The standoff finally concluded at 10:26 p.m., when a 45-year-old man was arrested without incident and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition.

Calumet Area detectives were investigating. Further details were not available.
