Chicago Cubs Fans Rally At Harry Caray's Before World Series Game 1

CHICAGO (CBS) – Chicago Cubs fans began celebrating Tuesday morning at Harry Caray's River North ahead of World Series Game 1.

"Hey Chicago, what do you say, Cubs are going to win today!" was sang throughout Harry Caray's with fans hoping for a win Tuesday night at Game 1 in Cleveland.

Tuesday marks a day fans have been waiting for since they began their Cubs fandom. It has been 71 years since the Cubs played in the World Series.

You may not recognize the face, but his mastery on the organ at Wrigley Field is what you hear during home games.

Gary Pressy, Cubs Organist, has not missed any games. In fact, he has played for the Cubs at 2,435 games. This weekend, may be his most memorable.

"It is an awesome situation," Pressy said. "And this season has been so special, good from day one, took off, first place most of the year."

The crowd toasted to the Cubs and held their signs proud.

It is a long time coming for fans, especial those who put their heart and soul into the Cubs.

"It got emotional the further we got and obviously winning the big game to get to World Series is more emotional than I thought it would be," said former Cubs pitcher, Kerry Wood. "Thinking of players who came before us, generations of fans who didn't see it happen. I think it all clicked, sunk in, special time to be Chicago."

Wood said he will watch Game 1 at home Tuesday night, but will head out Wednesday to Progressive Field. Wood also has a seat inside Wrigley Field for Games 3, 4, and 5 this weekend.
