Chicago Cubs Fandom A Global Affair
(CBS) -- Chicago Cubs fans are watching the team's World Series run from around the world.
As CBS 2's Roseanne Tellez reports, some of them are even making the long trek home to cheer on the North Siders.
One man says he left as Game 1 was starting and arrived at the airport as the first pitch was thrown in Game 2.
Fans are coming from the four corners of the world. And not just for any game.
"It's what I've been waiting for my whole life," Michael Savitsky says.
He came from Uruguay.
Cubs' Kyle Schwarber not cleared to play in field
Ken Taylor came in from Australia. It was a 24-hour flight, and he doesn't even have a game ticket.
"This is something you dream about as a Cubs fan," he says.
Becca Babel will join her mom at Wrigley Field this Sunday, but right now she's still in Morocco. She calls it a "once in a lifetime opportunity."
Army Lt. Marissa Spitz will not make it to the game this time. She's forced to watch from Kuwait. She has to wake up early in the morning to watch the games.
She's flying a W flag in the desert.
"When I see shots of inside Wrigley and outside Wrigley of all the fans there, that's when I get sad," Spitz says.
