Chicago Area Motorists Pleased By Falling Gas Prices

MOKENA, Ill. (CBS) -- Gas prices have been coming down recently and motorists are liking what they see.

According to the Triple A Fuel Gauge report, the average gas price in the Chicago area a year ago was $3.57 a gallon for regular unleaded--25 cents a gallon higher than it is now.

But, there are places you can find gas under $3 a gallon.

According to the GasGuru app, gas stations along Route 59 in Naperville have prices of $2.92 to $2.94 a gallon. GasBuddy.com says it's $2.98 a gallon at a gas station in Grayslake on Route 45.

Motorist Helen Szydelko says it's "awesome" prices are lower now but she says she knows "It's going to go up again." And, while she says she's not ready for that to happen and won't like it, she plans to enjoy the lower prices while they last.
