Chicago Alderman Punched

(CBS) – West Side alderman Walter Burnett was attacked Thursday night at his office.

The Ward 27 alderman tells CBS 2 a man came to his office earlier in the day and threatened to kill him and the mayor. The suspect returned in the evening, met the alderman at his office door and punched him, knocking him to the ground.

"My staff person said he was outside just walking around pacing, and when he walked up to me he looked like he was on drugs or something," Burnett says in a telephone interview.

Burnett says he has a cut above his nose but he's  doing well.

Police have a suspect in custody.
