Cellphones Stolen On Green Line Trains In West Garfield Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police have released surveillance photos of suspects in two cellphone robberies on the CTA Green Line last week in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

The thefts happened about 8:50 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. on April 2, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

Both victims were seated near doors as the train approached the Pulaski Green Line stop when a teenage boy took a phone from their hand and ran out of the train, police said.

The suspect in one of the thefts is described as a 14- to 16-year-old boy between 5-foot-1 and 5-foot-3, weighing 100-130 pounds, police said. The other suspect is about 18 and was wearing all black.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
