Catholic Charities Selling Designer Clothing To Raise Money For Mary's Closet
(CBS) -- Racks and racks of designer clothes, shoes and accessories are for sale at low prices this weekend as part of Catholic Charities' Encore event.
WBBM's Lisa Fielding reports if you are looking to get back into the working world and need that professional wardrobe, Mary's Closet is hoping to help.
"That's what we try to do at Mary's Closet, not only give that person their first suit but also maybe that first week of khakis and button downs or dresses," said spokeswoman Kristen McDaniel.
McDaniel says the first Encore event features donated designer items for men and women.
"We have men and women's high-end clothing including suits, jackets, skirts, tops…we have high-end handbags, shoes, ties, jewelry and other accessories," she said.
McDaniel says they hope to raise more than $20,000 for Mary's Closet, a program that collects suits and work attire for women and men getting back into the workforce. For more information, click here.
