Carpentersville Man Pleads Guilty To Bomb Threats At Kane County Courthouse
(CBS) -- A 22-year old man who made false bomb threats at a courthouse last year, is going to prison for a while, reports WBBM's Bernie Tafoya.
Carpentersville resident Akiel Davis stole items from a business in March of last year and a minivan that was running outside an apartment building last August. The minivan was recovered when Davis was arrested a few days later in Wisconsin on a different charge.
When he was to appear in Kane County court in September, State's Attorney Joe McMahon said Davis phoned in four false bomb threats, which forced the evacuation on the court center.
Davis had been on probation for aggravated battery at the time. Now, Davis has pleaded guilty on all the charges and has been sentenced to eight years in prison, four years for violating his probation and four more for his other crimes.
