Man Charged With DUI After Crashing Car Into Chicago Ridge Home
(STMW) -- A south suburban man accused of drunkenly crashing a car into a Chicago Ridge home early Saturday has been released on electronic monitoring.
Ryan Arvanites, 27, faces felony counts of aggravated DUI and one count of driving with a revoked license, according to a statement from Chicago Ridge police. He was also issued five traffic citations.
About 3 a.m. Saturday, officers responding to the 10600 block of Austin Avenue found a black 2012 Ford Fusion smashed into a home and Arvanites and three passengers — two women, 27 and 28, and a 36-year-old man — standing outside the vehicle, police said.
No one was hurt, but the building suffered "significant" damage, police said.
At a bond hearing on Sunday, prosecutors said a glassy-eyed Arvanites failed a field sobriety test and refused to give blood or urine samples. Judge Donald Panarese Jr. released him on electronic monitoring.
Police said Arvanites is a Posen resident but prosecutors listed his address in the 14400 block of South Keeler in Midlothian. He is next scheduled to appear in court March 26.
