Car Overturns In Logan Square Hit-And-Run Crash

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A car rolled over and its driver ran away after a hit-and-run crash in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side early Wednesday.

About 1:20 a.m., a car headed southbound on California Avenue just past Logan Boulevard clipped a parked vehicle before overturning, according to Chicago Police officers and neighbors at the scene.

A silver SUV with damage to its rear left side could be seen near the overturned car.

The car's male driver had not yet been located as of early Wednesday, but he was last seen running southbound on California, police said.

A woman who was a passenger in the car was treated by paramedics and released at the scene, according to police. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

A crowd of about a dozen neighbors gathered near the scene after the crash.

"What I heard was a screech and then a bang," said Brian Sutherland, 31, who lives nearby.
