Car Crashes Into Belmont-Cragin Building

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Three people were displaced after a car crashed into a building in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side early Tuesday.

The crash occurred about 12:45 a.m. in the 5100 block of West Grand Avenue, according to Fire Media Affairs.

Guillermo Duran, who lives nearby, told a reporter at the scene that it looked like drag racing involved, claiming he saw multiple other vehicles stop and then quickly drive away after the crash.

Police could not immediately provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the crash Tuesday morning.

The Illinois Department of Human Services was called to help three of the building's residents find shelter, according to Fire Media Affairs.
