Car Catches Fire After Crashing Into South Suburban Home

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A four-door sedan caught fire after crashing into a home in south suburban Dolton late Sunday.

The incident occurred about 11:30 p.m. in the 200 block of East 141st Street after a woman lost control of her vehicle, drove through the home's fence and ultimately struck the rear of the residence, said Dolton Fire Engineer David Alvarado.

Alvarado added no one inside the home was injured, but that the driver was taken to MetroSouth Medical Center.

Her condition - and whether alcohol or drugs played a factor in the crash - is unclear as of 2:20 a.m.
