Burglar Breaks In Twice At Plainfield Bakery

Listen to Break-Ins At Plainfield Bakery

(CBS) -- Police say they are fairly certain the same person is responsible for two break-ins in five days at a bakery in Plainfield.

The first break-in was Saturday before last at Cathy's Sweet Creations.

Owner Cathy DeAvila says the front door was smashed and more than $400 was taken.

Then the following Thursday she got a call from police.

"And they said the bakery window was smashed," DeAvila says. "And I said, 'What do you mean, the window? You mean the door, right? Because I was just broken into and robbed this past weekend.'"

The police official replied, she says, this way: "I'm so sorry to have to tell you this. Your store was broken into again."

DeAvila says people have been very supportive. She adds: "It still makes you sad and a little scared."

She says they're working with the property owners to bring in security cameras.
