Bulls Sign Spencer Dinwiddie

(CBS) The Bulls have signed guard Spencer Dinwiddie, they announced Thursday afternoon.

The move brings Chicago's roster to the limit of 15 and sets the group the team figures to take into training camp in late September.

The Bulls acquired Dinwiddie in a mid-June trade with the Pistons in which they sent power forward Cam Bairstow to Detroit. Chicago then cut Dinwiddie in early July as it maneuvered n the fringes to fit Dwyane Wade's contract under the salary cap. After clearing waivers, Dinwidde rejoined the Bulls for Summer League play in Las Vegas, where he averaged 10.6 points on 36.5 percent shooting across seven games.

The 23-year-old Dinwiddie averaged 4.8 points in 12 games for the Pistons last season.

Ahead of camp, Dinwiddie sits behind Rajon Rondo, Isaiah Canaan and Jerian Grant on the depth chart at point guard.
