Bulls' Gibson Finishes Second In Sixth Man Of The Year Voting
(CBS) Bulls forward Taj Gibson was the runner-up in the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award voting, it was announced Thursday morning.
Clippers guard Jamal Crawford won the award with 421 total points and 57 first-place votes. Gibson had 395 points and 49 first-place votes. Bulls guard D.J. Augustin also garnered two second-place votes and finished seventh overall in the voting.
Gibson averaged a career-high 13.o points and also 6.8 rebounds this season while shooting 48 percent. Crawford averaged 18.6 points and 3.2 assists while shooting 42 percent.
Picked up off waivers from the Raptors in December, Augustin also had a career year, averaging 14.9 points and 5.0 assists while shooting 42 percent in his 61 games with the Bulls. Both he and Gibson were in Chicago's lineup that closed out games.
