Bulls' Doug McDermott: 'We Deserved To Be Booed'

(CBS) The Bulls put forth another poor effort and earned another loss Wednesday, falling 113-90 to the Hawks. During the fourth quarter, boos were heard throughout the United Center.

Late in the game, the Bulls ran out a lineup largely consisting of reserve players, bringing the team no closer to a comeback. After the game, wing Doug McDermott expressed his frustration.

"We deserved to be booed tonight, to be honest," McDermott said. "That group that was out there the last 10 (to) 15 minutes, it didn't even seem like basketball. I was a part of that, so I take full responsibility for that. They don't deserve that. They pay to watch a good product."

In the loss, the Bulls dropped their fourth straight game and fell to 27-25 as they enter the NBA's All-Star break, inching closer to falling out of the playoff picture.

The Bulls have been frustrating during Fred Hoiberg's first season as coach. They're hoping for better in the second half of the season, while understanding the boos from angry fans.

"We're going to give them something better after this break," McDermott said. "For whatever reason, we're just in a little bit of a funk. We'll all look ourselves in the mirror and get better."
