Buckingham Fountain Celebrates 93 Years In Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS)-- Buckingham Fountain turned 93 years old on Wednesday.

The iconic fountain was dedicated to the people of Chicago back in 1927. Until 1980, the water display was operated manually by two engineers who each worked 12 hour shifts.

Now the fountain is completely computerized.

The fountain has remained dry in Grant Park due to the pandemic.
