Bryce Harper Extends Act Of Kindness To Homeless Woman Before Departing Wrigley Field On Mother's Day

(CBS) After registering a never-seen-before box score line in Sunday's 4-3 loss in 13 innings to the Cubs, Nationals star Bryce Harper took a moment to help brighten a person's day.

After boarding the team bus to leave Wrigley Field on Sunday evening, Harper then hopped out for a moment and gave a jar of money to a homeless woman on nearby Sheffield Avenue, according to a social media post by a woman who identified herself as a security worker. The story was then later confirmed by the Washington Post.

Harper had a unique game Sunday, as he set a major league record by reaching base seven times without recording an official at-bat. The Cubs walked him six times, and he was hit by a pitch as well.

Harper walked 13 times in the four-game series, the most in one series in MLB history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Here's the story on Harper's act of kindness.
