Man Fatally Shot On IIT Campus In Bronzeville

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 24-year-old man was killed in a shooting Friday night on the campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology in the Bronzeville neighborhood.

Police said the man was walking near 33rd and Wabash around 10:40 p.m., when two men walked up and one of them shot him twice in the leg and once in the face.

The victim was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition. Charles J. Moore, 24, was later pronounced dead, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

No one was in custody Saturday morning.

Area Central detectives were investigating.
