Man Fatally Shot By Chicago Police On Ashland Avenue In Lakeview
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was shot and killed by police early Sunday following a disturbance at Ashland Avenue and Addison Street in Lakeview.
As CBS 2's Vi Nguyen reported, yellow crime scene was wrapped around Ashland Avenue between Waveland Avenue and Addison Street as police conducted their investigation Sunday morning.
It was around 5:15 a.m. when police got a call for a disturbance. Two men were quarreling outside when one of them pulled out a gun and shot the other.
Officers got to the scene and fond the victim shot in the neck and cheek. But the man who shot him was already gone.
Officers searched the area and found the suspect. They confronted him, and at that point, police said he started shooting at them.

One of the officers fired back and killed the man.
A neighbor who lives at the corner of Waveland and Marshfield avenues just west of Ashland woke up to the sound of gunshots.
He did not want to speak on camera, but he shared a picture with CBS 2 News of the police activity.

CBS 2 News has learned there is body cam footage of the shooting, and now the Civilian Office of Police Accountability is investigating.
The man who was shot by the suspect was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition late Sunday.
At last check, the suspect had not been arrested.
