Teen, 17, Dies After Being Pulled From Lake
(CBS) -- Divers pulled a 17-year-old boy from the waters around 31st Street Beach Friday evening, but he was pronounced dead after being rushed to a hospital, the Chicago Fire Department said.
Chicago Fire Department divers were called to the lakefront around 8 p.m. for a report of as many as two missing swimmers, according to unconfirmed scanner reports.
The male teen was pulled from the water, and paramedics could be seen performing CPR on him. Eddie Horn, 17, was taken to Mercy Hospital in "extremely critical" condition, the fire department said initially.
CFD spokesman Larry Langford said Horn was pronounced at the hospital.
