Boys, 6 And 7, Hit By Car In Humboldt Park
(CBS) -- Two young boys are in the hospital after they were hit by a car in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood.
It happened near Division and Pulaski around 11 a.m. Sunday. Police say the boys, ages 6 and 7, were crossing the street when a driver hit them.
Witnesses say the driver was unable to stop in time.
"The kids just decided to run in the street and the car hit the two little boys and he tried to stop and got out to see if they were ok," Shumyra Huff. "I don't know where there mother was, but they were just running and playing in the street."
The children are expected to be ok. Police took the driver into custody.
Charges are pending.
