Boy Struck, Critically Injured By Bus In Gresham

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 12-year-old boy walking his dog was struck by a bus and critically injured Wednesday evening in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

About 7 p.m., the boy was walking in the 1400 block of West 79th Street when he ran into the street and was struck by the vehicle, police said.

A police source said the 12-year-old ran into the path of the bus while chasing the dog.

He was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
