Boy, 16, Seriously Wounded In South Shore Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 16-year-old boy was shot in the South Shore neighborhood Saturday night.

The boy was driving westbound in the 7600 block of South Dorchester Avenue about 9:30 p.m. when a male on the sidewalk fired shots in his direction, police said.

He then drove himself to Advocate Trinity Hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper back, police said. He was listed in serious condition.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
