Boy, 16, Killed In South Shore Shooting

(STMW) -- A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed Thursday in the South Shore neighborhood.

Amari R. Sutton was found about 6 p.m. outside in the 1400 block of East 73rd Street — the same block he lived in — with gunshot wounds to the chest and neck, police and the Cook County medical examiner's office said.

Sutton was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:10 p.m., the medical examiner's office said.

A police source said the boy was a documented gang member.
