Boy, 15, Charged With Murder In Washington Heights

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 15-year-old boy has been charged with fatally shooting a man Saturday night in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side.

The teenager, who was not identified because of his age, faces one count of first-degree murder, a felony, according to a statement from Chicago Police.

About 6:50 p.m. Saturday, officers responding to a call of a shots fired in the 9600 block of South Green Street found 18-year-old Bernard Pippen lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the neck, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Pippen, of the 11000 block of South State, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:10 p.m., authorities said.

The teen was scheduled to appear in bond court Monday.
