CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 14-year-old boy was shot multiple times Wednesday evening in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The boy was shot about 6:35 p.m. when three males approached him in the 12000 block of South Perry Avenue and one of them opened fire in his direction, said police News Affairs Officer Ana Pacheco.

He was taken with gunshot wounds to the legs and arm to University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital, where he was listed in "stable" condition, Pacheco said.

Area South detectives are investigating.
