Boy, 14, Shot In Chicago Lawn

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 14-year-old boy was shot Tuesday evening in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The teen was standing on a porch in the 7300 block of South Maplewood Avenue about 6:40 p.m. when suspects ran out from across the street and started shooting, police News Affairs Officer Thomas Sweeney said.

The boy, 14, was shot in the left shoulder and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition, Sweeney said.

The shooting may have been gang-related, a police source said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
