Boy, 13, Seriously Hurt In West Side Hit-And-Run

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured Monday night, after being struck by a vehicle in the Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The boy was struck by a vehicle while he was crossing the street about 7:05 p.m. near South Pulaski Road and West Congress Parkway, authorities said.

He was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Joe Roccasalva said.

The driver of the vehicle fled southbound on Pulaski, police said.

Area North detectives are investigating.
