Body Pulled From River On Near North Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Authorities recovered an Elk Grove Village man's body from the Chicago River on the Near North Side Sunday evening.

The man's body was pulled from the river in the 1000 block of West Weed Street at 7:50 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

He was identified as 30-year-old Ryan McClelland, of the 1900 block of East Chaffee Court in Elk Grove Village, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

An autopsy to determine cause and manner of McClelland's death is scheduled for Monday.

Area Central detectives are conducting a death investigation.
