Body Pulled From Chicago River

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police recovered the body of a middle-aged man from the Chicago River near the Harrison Street bridge Monday evening.

Police Marine Unit officers responded to the area near the 400 block of West Harrison Street about 6:05 p.m. after a 911 caller reported seeing something in the water, police said.

A man thought to be in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:28 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Area Central detectives are conducting a death investigation, police said.
