Man's body pulled from Lake Michigan near Oak Street Beach

A man's body was pulled out of Lake Michigan on Friday afternoon near Oak Street Beach.

Police said, shortly before 4 p.m., an unidentified man was pulled out of the water by the Marine Unit in the 1000 block of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. It was not immediately clear how long he was in the water before he was pulled out.

Area 3 detectives have opened a death investigation.
