Body Found In Chatham Garage Identified As Missing Woman

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A person found dead in a garbage bag in the garage of a Chatham neighborhood home Wednesday afternoon has been identified as a 20-year-old woman missing since Sunday.

About 3 p.m. Wednesday, officers responding to a report of a dead body in the 500 block of East 92nd Street found a person inside a garage, according to Chicago Police.

Sources said the body was discovered in a garbage bag.

The body was identified Thursday morning as 20-year-old Shante Bohanan, who lived in the 2800 block of West 66th Street, the Cook County medical examiner's office said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bohanan, who went by "Te Te," was last seen Sunday in the 6400 block of South Campbell, police said in a missing person alert.

As of Thursday morning, additional information about the fatality was not available as Area South detectives are conducting a death investigation. An autopsy will be conducted later Thursday.
