Body Found At 31st Street Beach

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Marine Unit recovered Tuesday a body found in Lake Michigan at 31st Street Beach.

The Marine Unit and Chicago Police responded to a call around 2:42 p.m. Tuesday of a body found in the water at 31st Street Beach, on Chicago's South Side.

The Marine Unit recovered the body of 30-year-old Robert M. Dain from about 100 yards from shore. The body was thought to be in the water for some time.

Dain, who lived in the 1300 block of West 31st Street, was pronounced dead at the scene, the medical examiner's office said. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.

Police said it is an ongoing Area Central death investigation.
