Body Found Along I-290 In Western Suburbs

(CBS) – A man's body was discovered along Interstate 290 in the western suburbs on Monday, prompting a death investigation.

State police say the investigation was centered on a portion of inbound I-290 at Wolf Road. A subject may have been struck by a vehicle on the expressway earlier in the day.

The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the man as 22-year-old Lashawn D. Williams of Plainfield, the Chicago Sun-Times Media Wire reports.

The mainline ramp from St. Charles Road at Wolf Road on eastbound I-290 was expected to be closed temporarily, with lanes from Interstate 88 still open.
