Blues Owner Apologizes To Fans For Loss To Blackhawks With Full-Page Newspaper Ad

(CBS) St. Louis Blues owner Tom Stillman apologized to his team's fans for a first-round series loss to the Blackhawks by taking out a full-page newspaper ad.

The Blues won a franchise-record 52 games in the regular season and went for broke by acquiring Ryan Miller and Steve Ott at the trade deadline. But after taking a 2-0 series lead on Chicago, St. Louis faltered by dropping four in a row.

"Despite many memorable moments this season, the bottom line is we fell short of expectations -- yours and ours -- in the playoffs," the message read. "Our ownership group, management team, coaches and players share in everyone's disappointment that the season has come to such an abrupt end."
