Blue Line Train Derails In Forest Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The CTA has suspended Blue Line train service between the Harlem and Forest Park stops on the Forest Park branch, after a train derailed late Friday morning.

A CTA spokesperson said there was a minor derailment involving a westbound train arriving at the Forest Park station at 11 a.m.

Passengers were evacuated from the train by walking to the head car, and then onto the platform.

Shuttle buses were providing service between the Forest Park and Harlem stations until full train service is restored.

The cause of the derailment has not been determined.
