Blackhawks Send Teuvo Teravainen Down To AHL Rockford

(CBS) The Blackhawks have sent 20-year-old winger Teuvo Teravainen down to AHL Rockford, they announced Thursday night.

Chicago also recalled forward Ryan Hartman and defenseman Kyle Cumiskey.

With the lines juggling with the return of winger Kris Versteeg and coach Joel Quenneville being hesitant to play Teravainen on the defensive-minded fourth line, Teravainen ended up the odd man out and -- from the Blackhawks' perspective -- will have a better chance to develop with more regular playing time.

Teravainen had two goals and two assists in 15 games with Chicago this season.

Cumiskey, 28, skated with the Blackhawks in four preseason games. Hartman, 20, was Chicago's first-round pick in the 2013 draft.
