Blackhawks Recall Joakim Nordstrom

(CBS) The Blackhawks have recalled 22-year-old forward Joakim Nordstrom from the AHL's Rockford Icehogs, the team announced Wednesday.

Nordstrom has played in 10 games for Chicago this season, registering a goal and an assist. His NHL debut was Oct. 1 against Washington.

Nordstrom has 33 points in 58 games with Rockford this season.

As for Nordstrom's role? 670TheScore.com's hockey columnist Jay Zawaski envisions limited playing time.

Zawaski's analysis:

"Nordstrom was one of the Hawks stars, along with Teuvo Teravainen, of the preseason. However, when the regular season began, he struggled and was sent down. Nordstrom skated on a line with Brandon Bollig and Marcus Kruger at practice. If he is, in fact, in the lineup on Thursday, it will be in a bottom six role."
