Blackhawks Extend Affiliation With AHL IceHogs Through 2021-'22

(CBS) The Blackhawks have extended their affiliation agreement with the AHL Rockford IceHogs through the 2021-'22 season, they announced Thursday.

That will continue a partnership that dates back to the start of the 2007-'08 season.

"Our partnership with the city of Rockford and the IceHogs has been excellent since our relationship started in 2007," Blackhawks senior vice president of hockey operations Al MacIsaac said in a statement. "The combination of the great staff and Rockford's proximity to Chicago make it only natural that we extend this agreement. We are looking forward to many more years of working together."

In the past seven seasons, 22 players have won the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks after playing for the IceHogs.
