Blackhawks Cut Down Roster To 31

(CBS) With the season opener just over a week away, the Blackhawks have continued with their roster reduction, which has now reached 31.

The Blackhawks have reassigned forward Brandon Mashinter and defenseman Cameron Schilling to AHL affiliate Rockford. Additionally, the team released foward Daniel Paille from training camp.

Paille, 31, was added to the training camp roster after spending the past six seasons in Boston.

With the roster now at 31, the Blackhawks currently carry 18 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goaltenders.
