Blackhawks' Corey Crawford Undergoes Appendectomy

(CBS) Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford underwent an appendectomy Saturday, the team announced.

Crawford had the procedure done in a hospital in Philadelphia, where the Blackhawks lost 3-1 to the Flyers on Saturday afternoon. The surgery went as planned, the team said, and Crawford is expected to return to "unrestricted hockey activities" in two or three weeks.

Crawford is 12-6-2 with a 2.27 goals against average and .927 save percentage this season.

Earlier Saturday, the Blackhawks signed Eric Semborski as an emergency backup goalie.
