Bitter Cold To Last Through Tomorrow

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The latest blast of frigid temperatures for the Chicago area will be sticking around a couple more days.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory from 9 p.m. Wednesday through 10 a.m. Thursday, as wind chills could reach as low as 20 below zero by 10 p.m., and nearly 30 below by sunrise on Thursday.

The actual temperature is not expected to reach higher than about 16 degrees on Wednesday, and might not make it beyond single digits on Thursday, and the low could be about 8 below zero.

The Chicago area also could get another dusting of snow Wednesday morning, with up to an inch more before late afternoon. Then the next chance of snow likely won't be until Sunday.

Friday and Saturday should bring a slight improvement in temperatures, with highs in the mid- to upper-20s during the day, before temperatures drop back below zero Saturday night.

Sunday and Monday again will see highs in the teens, and then next Tuesday's high could be right around zero degrees.
